Hockey legends Frank Selke and Foster Hewitt each signed at least 30 separate documents in this remarkable collection of Maple Leaf Gardens financial records from July 1, 1944 to October 31, 1945. Conn Smythe signed each of two separate expense reports dated October 27, 1945 and his handwritten instruction, "they were not satisfactory, write it off" appears at the bottom of a memo addressed to him. Smythe's initials appear on three more documents. A breakdown of the Maple Leafs' 1945 bonuses is initialed by both Smythe and Happy Day, whose initials appear separately on two more records. Hewitt signed 32 records and H.F. Bolton's signature appears on four documents in this collection of MLG records that include handwritten and typed breakdowns of the Maple Leafs' 1945 playoff pool distribution and insurance documents regarding the policies of Smythe and Conacher, among others. "The British Treasury Cabinet Binding Case No 12" binder has "No. , Maple Leaf Gardens Ltd" and "Journal Vouchers #3031-3410G" written on its Grand & Toy label and is housed in its original 9 1/4" x 12 1/2" x 3 1/2" sleeve.
