Frank Selke's original signature and initial appear numerous times in this lot of Maple Leaf Gardens financial records from the height of World War II. With Conn Smythe serving the war effort, Selke signed 33 separate documents and initialed 12 others. Red Horner signed an expense sheet initialed by Selke while Hap Day initialed three other documents. Foster Hewitt's signature is featured on 21 documents. Included is a record of the breakdown of the 1942 playoff pool that saw a full share of $1,200 paid out to each player on the miracle Maple Leafs team that overcame a 3-0 series deficit with four straight wins over Detroit in the final to claim Toronto's first Stanley Cup since 1932. "The 'Original' Shannon Lock Arch Binding Case No 12" binder has "No. 9, Maple Leaf Gardens Journal Vouchers #2323-2699" written on its Office Specialty Mfg. Co. label and is housed in its original 9 1/4" x 12 1/2" x 3 1/2" sleeve.
