Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/16/2010
Even though Sidney Crosby is destined to be the best hockey player ever to wear #87, Pierre Turgeon actually became the first 500-goal scorer to wear the number. Turgeon, who scored his 500th goal with Colorado in 2005, wore #87 with the Avalanche because his customary #77 had been retired in honor of Ray Bourque. This Turgeon game worn Avalanche jersey was from the team's second set of the 2006-07 season, Lucky Pierre's NHL swan song, making it the last white jersey he wore during his remarkable career. Size 56 fly tag in the neck has two strokes in black marker. NHL MeiGray Group tag for the 2006-2007 season is sewn inside the rear hem and the jersey's fight strap is intact. Light wear includes faint mark under Avalanche crest on front and small friction burn on right cuff. Comes with an LOA from the Avalanche.
