Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2010

We're throwing down the gauntlet for Bobby Orr enthusiasts to square off in bidding for this pair of the legendary defenceman's game used hockey gloves. These battered treasures are photo matched to Bobby's record-smashing 1969-70 season when he became the first defenceman to lead the NHL in scoring. Orr recorded a staggering 120 points to capture the first of his two Art Ross trophies. This remarkable pair of Bobby's game used gloves are matched to a number of photos, including a signed framed 7" x 3 1/2" pose in his Bruins uniform. "Hope these gloves are as good to you as they have been to me. Bobby Orr" is signed in red marker on the shot mounted in white matte and presented in a 9 1/2" x 6" wood frame. Orr's #4 is stenciled on bands of tape that remain stuck in place on each cuff. Extensive wear and game use is particularly evident in the leather palms of both gloves, which are completely worn through, obviously the result of all the shooting, passing and stickhandling Bobby did as he fired 33 goals and set up 87 others during the regular season. While these beauties may have seen playoff duty while the Bruins claimed their first Stanley Cup since 1941 that spring, they are not the gloves that Bobby was wearing when he scored his Cup-clinching overtime winner against St. Louis. Nonetheless, this pair of Bobby Orr game used gloves from the 1969-70 season has its rightful place in hockey history. The question is, will they be a part of your treasured shrine?
