You can't help but think of skating for miles and miles on frozen Dutch ice when you see these two oversized wood and metal display skates. Skate manufacturer B.T. Kleinveldink's name appears on each of the two vintage promotional skates offered here. The Dutch skatemaker's name is etched in individual block letters on the left side of the metal blade that measures approximately 40", from the front tip topped by a gold-colored metal ball to the back edge. The skate blade is inserted into a piece of wood that has been shaved flat on top with two leather straps attached to demonstrate how the skate is attached to the bottom of a shoe. "B.T. Kleinveldink, Woudenberg" is printed on a plaque attached to the side of the wood portion of another vintage store display skate that features another 40" long steel blade with a curled front tip. A truly unique pair of promotional skates that offer great insight to early skate merchandising and present really cool modern display opportunities.
