The 2009 Montreal Centennial Auction

The NHL 75th anniversary patch sewn onto the right breast of this Washington Capitals home jersey identifies it as a gamer worn during the 1991-92 preseason by Randy Pearce, the team’s fourth round pick in the 1990 entry draft. Pearce spent the regular season in the minors and never appeared in an NHL game. All the same, this original Capitals jersey is a beauty to behold with its alternating red and blue tackle twill stars, “Washington” embroidered onto the jersey in red, and “Capitals” in blue twill, with a red twill hockey stick. The jersey’s fight strap, and Maska and size 54 fly tags remain.
