No other player could rush from back behind his own net up into the offensive zone with more speed and skill than the great Bobby Orr. Offered here is a game used Victoriaville used during the 1974 Stanley Cup Finals series between the Boston Bruins and the Philadelphia Flyers. Taped with Bobbys distinctive spiraling grip in aged and browning white tape over black, this example does not display his name on the shaft although it could be hiding up under that length of knob tape. The bare untaped blade, his style towards the end of his career, is covered in puck marks and the bottom edge shows good game wear with the beginnings of cracking. Boldly signed in black on the side of the shaft Happy Birthday, Bobby Orr. This one came from the collection of the Bruins team doctor Ashby Moncore, according to the accompanying letter of authenticity on MeiGray Group letterhead. The letter goes on to claim that the stick was given to the doctor at the close of the 1974 Finals by trainer Frosty Forristal. Also comes with a Certificate of Registration from MeiGray. [red] Addendum; We added a photo of Bobby Orr using this type of Victoriaville stick during the 1974 Stanley Cup Finals.[/red]
