By the time he received this gorgeous gold and diamond ring, Jacques Laperriere must have felt as if there was no limit to what he could accomplish in his budding NHL career. This remarkable 10k gold ring was the second straight Stanley Cup ring presented to Laperriere after the Montreal Canadiens defended their title in the 1966 final with a six-game win over the Detroit Red Wings. A Calder Trophy winner and Second All-Star Team member as a rookie defenceman in 1963-64, Laperriere moved up to the First All-Star Team the following season. He repeated that accomplishment in 1965-66, when he was also recognized as the leagues top defenceman by claiming the Norris Trophy despite playing only 57 regular season games and being sidelined for the entire playoff run. A total of nine diamonds are set in the face of the ring, with eight diamonds surrounding one set in the middle. WORLD HOCKEY CHAMPIONS is spelled out in raised letters encircling the diamonds. The rings left shank has 1965-66 engraved on a banner above a raised Canadiens logo with maple leafs below. LAPERRIERE is engraved on the right shank above a raised Canadiens logo with more maple leafs beneath that. This magnificent size 8 championship ring was the second of eight Stanley Cup rings Laperriere won over the course of his lengthy career with the Canadiens as a Hall of Fame player and coach. It comes along with Jacques Laperrieres signed letter of authenticity.
