Wooden witness to the on-ice exploits of the greatest player of all time, Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky surpassed the accomplishments of his rookie outing, scoring 55 goals and tallying 164 points in his sophomore 1980-81 season. This Titan TPM model, used by Wayne in 1981, is stamped with W. Gretzky high up on the handle and the factory date Mar 27 1981 on the back of the shaft. A now-fading number 99 on marker appears just below the knob. The handle is wrapped in creamy white-over-black cloth tape and the blade is layered in the heavy and oily black bulldog tape. Loads of use on this example, with black stick and puck marks along the blade and shaft along with a few slashes of red paint, quite possibly from face-offs against another Titan-wielding opponent. A fine example with no cracks or damage.
