Equipment worn by the Great One is tough.... but items from his days in the Big Apple are next to impossible to obtain. Wayne Gretzky sported this stunning white lid during the tail-end of his career while with the Rangers of New York. Well worn Jofa model 23551, made famous by Wayne, features his twin Rangers shields at the back with two-tone NYR logo stickers high up on each side. Inside you will find a gold-on-black identification label reading 99 GRETZKY applied by the teams equipment staff. This example is circa 1996-97 or 1997-98 and is littered with nicks and scratches from on-ice battles. A rare and astonishing find! Comes complete with a detailed letter of authenticity and provenance describing how the helmet was obtained from a collector who obtained it from a former Rangers trainer. The letter also points out that the lid has been photo-matched to a number of pics in the book Total Gretzky and we will provide photographs showing the match.
