The 2009 Montreal Centennial Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/24/2009
A special piece from a memorable night in the life of Yvan Cournoyer, the Montreal Canadiens one and only Roadrunner, is this golden 2-inch in diameter coin from the 1982 Hall of Fame Dinner. The September 8th event honored Cournoyer and fellow inductees Emile Francis, Rod Gilbert and Norm Ullman, with souvenirs like this, the same as the former players received, given to dinner attendees. Featuring the Hall of Fame logo, that of the NHL and the names of the four men, the memento exhibits some light handling and wear and will come in its original black leather presentation box which features the NHL shield. In his first year of admissibility, Cournoyer was a shoo-in for election with his 428 career goals and important contributions to ten Stanley Cup wins for the Canadiens.
