This great lot of original boxing promotional posters features an 8 ½” x 14” paper poster for All-Canada Sports’ closed circuit broadcast at Maple Leaf Gardens of the June 20, 1980 world welterweight championship bout between Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium and a pair of 13 ½” x 24” posters for the closed circuit broadcast at Maple Leaf Gardens of the November 25, 1980 rematch at the Superdome in New Orleans. A striking yellow poster with red and black lettering promotes the Maple Leaf Gardens closed circuit broadcast of the January 22, 1973 heavyweight championship bout between Frazier and Foreman in Jamaica, and a Spanish poster is included for Clyde Gray’s 1975 welterweight title bid in Puerto Rico, along with two posters for Gray’s May 10, 1976 bout against Oropeza at the CNE Coliseum. A huge poster for the broadcast at Roy Thomson Hall of the 1987 Hagler-Leonard fight in Las Vegas, a big poster for the 1977 Ontario Golden Gloves Tournament of Champions and another advertising City TV’s Fight Night boxing broadcasts, a two-tone yellow and blue poster measuring approximately 15” x 24” advertises the MLG closed circuit broadcast of the 1972 Ali-Foster fight. A poster for the closed circuit broadcast at Toronto’s CNE Coliseum for the Ali-Berbick “Drama in Bahama” fight in 1981 and a TVKO poster for the 1991 Battle of the Ages between Holyfield and Foreman complete this lot.
