The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Darren McCarty has been known more for his fists than his scoring ability, taking on the role of the Red Wings enforcer most of his career, a role in which he won four Stanley Cups in 1997, 1998, 2002 and 2008, the last of which came after resurrecting his career in the Red Wings minor league system. The uniform, made by Fana in size XXL, has with the team logo, numbers and Darren’s surname all dye-sublimated into the fabric. Advertising from King Par appears on the left shoulder and another larger ad on the back comes from team sponsor Patsy Lou GMC. The team set info from the Perani Group is there in the inside rear hem and reads “07 Set 06” with the added black marker notation “1/19/08 Bloomington Game Worn” referring to the match this particular shirt was worn in. Light but obvious game use includes a few good marks and burns on the right arm. Also included in the lot are Darren’s game worn Bauer Vapor gloves, both signed and his game worn Flint Generals Mission helmet with number “25” on the back, also signed. The sigs on the gloves are fine but the auto on the lid is somewhat smudged.
