What a way to break into the NHL! After toiling two seasons for the AHL Hershey Bears, left winger Don Marcotte split the ‘69-70 season between Hershey and Boston, appearing in 35 games for the Bruins. Marcotte then saw action in all 14 of the Bruins’ playoff games and informs us that this is the jersey he wore during Boston’s march to the Stanley Cup title, the team’s first in 29 years. The Wilson jersey has “50” added in ballpoint to the company tag in the collar and features a double garter-style fight strap. The Bruins’ crest and the number “29” Don donned before switching to his more familiar #21 are in tackle twill and sewn-on. Nice game use is evidenced by the seven team repairs; three are on the front and include a 2 1/2” by half-inch job in the upper gold striping and a dime-size affair to repair a red board burn near the left seam. Three repairs can be spotted on the right sleeve and another dime-size repair is in the upper gold stripe on the back. Fabulous tie-neck style jersey from a very special time in franchise history, the happiest in most living Boston fans’ hearts, will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by Don Marcotte.
