This one-of-a-kind original portrait of Doug Harvey has been autographed and dated by the Hall of Fame defenceman. Harvey, whose No. 2 was retired by the Canadiens, was the quarterback behind Montreal’s record 10 consecutive appearances in the finals throughout the 1950s, including five straight Stanley Cups from 1956-60. A runner-up to Red Kelly when the Norris Trophy was first awarded to the NHL’s top defenceman in 1954, he claimed the award seven of the next eight seasons, including his last in 1961-62 as player-coach of the New York Rangers. Harvey has signed and dated “Montreal, PQ March 7, 1977” this outstanding likeness of himself with a red alternate captain’s “A” outlined in blue on his jersey which was painted by artist Carleton “Mac” McDiarmid. The image is presented in a two-tone grey and white matte and mounted in a 20” x 16” silver frame.
