The Hextall name has been a part of the NHL for decades and it all began with Bryan Hextall Sr., who scored the Stanley Cup-winning goal for the Rangers in 1940. The NHL's First-Team All-Star left wing for three straight seasons and Art Ross winner in 1942, Hextall’s sons, Bryan Jr. and Dennis, followed in his footsteps and played in the league throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Grandson Ron Hextall won the Conn Smythe Trophy as a rookie goalie in a losing cause with Philadelphia in 1987. The clan’s patriarch has autographed in blue ink “Bryan Hextall Sr., Poplar Point, Manitoba, July 2, 1977” this remarkable original portrait by artist Carleton “Mac” McDiarmid which is tastefully presented in a two-tone grey and white matte and mounted in a 20” x 16” silver frame.
