The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
A member of the 1932 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs, Hap Day added five more Cups as the team's coach during the 1940s. The Maple Leafs legend signed this remarkable painting of himself by artist Carleton "Mac" McDiarmid in St. Thomas, Ontario, on August 23, 1977, as noted on his personalized autograph. Day also lists the teams he played for beginning with the Toronto St. Pats in 1924 and the Maple Leafs through 1934, when he joined the New York Americans for his final four seasons. A fantastic collectors item, particularly for Leafs fans, the portrait is presented in a two-tone grey and white matte and mounted in a 20” x 16” silver frame.
