The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Rookie coach Claude Ruel picked up the Canadiens’ torch from Toe Blake for the 1968-69 season and helped lead Montreal to its fourth Stanley Cup in five years. Serge Savard became the first defenceman to win the Conn Smythe Trophy as the Habs swept the St. Louis Blues in the final for the second year in a row. This beautiful photo and autograph display includes a team photo and a color inset photo which shows John Ferguson surrounded by members of the Blues. Ferguson’s original autograph is presented along with the individual signatures of Jean Beliveau, Henri Richard, Bobby Rousseau, Dick Duff, Ralph Backstrom and Larry Hillman. A silver colored plaque lists the players’ names and the result of the Stanley Cup final against St. Louis. Presented in a 29” x 24” wood frame, the display is mounted in a “skate marks on ice” silver matte with red and blue accents.
