The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Memory-provoking piece is from the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, New York and for us hockey “heads” recalls the greatest moment in the history of United States hockey. The tableau holds the team’s shield with Olympic rings, encircled by the words “United States Olympic Team, 1980”. Each shank displays “USA” above the five rings bordered by leafed branches. Splendid ring, only given to the team USA athletes who participated in the 1980 Lake Placid Winter Olympics, including players from the ‘’Miracle On Ice’’ team. These were not available for sale, you had to compete in the Games to get one. Fashioned in silver, in excellent condition. Size 13.
