This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
This fantastic miniature 1984-85 Stanley Cup trophy was produced for the Edmonton Oilers’ offices by Boffey. With Wayne Gretzky leading the way, the Oilers defended their title with a five-game win over the Philadelphia Flyers in the finals. This magnificent award is engraved “Edmonton Oilers 1984-85” with owner Peter Pocklington and GM/head coach Glen Sather listed immediately underneath, along with the rest of the Oilers’ staff. Gretzky’s name appears first among the players, as team captain, followed by Anderson, Carroll, Coffey, Fogolin, Fuhr, Gregg, Huddy, Hughes, Hunter, Jackson, Krushelnyski, Kurri, Lindstrom, Lowe, Lumley, McClelland, Melnyk, Messier, Moog, Napier, Pouzar, Semenko and Tikkanen, followed by the team’s trainers. The trophy remains in very good condition with its original felt bottom underneath the black disk base. A fantastic award from one of hockey’s great dynasties.
