The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
Although his first nine pro seasons were spent down in the minors, netminder Gilles Villemure sprinkled in a handful of games with the New York Rangers during the 1963-64 NHL season. This ancient Northland Professional gamer was used by Gilles during this period. The knob is wrapped in aged white cloth tape over the heavily oiled bulldog with more of the heavy black tape covering the blade and up onto the paddle. Gilles' surname is stamped on the shaft and the paddle holds two strips of black celluloid accent wrap. The blade has some age cracking running in from the tip, but otherwise this example is in excellent condition with all the tape intact.
