The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
On April 12th, 1994, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Rangers superstar Adam Graves scored his 52nd goal of the season, setting the franchise’s all-time single season scoring record. The goal, coming at 01:15 of the third period in a match between the NY Rangers and the visiting Buffalo Sabres, was assisted by Steve Larmer and Sergei Zubov, according to the engraved plaque mounted inside this wonderful 25”x72” framed display. Below the plaque rests an important memento of the milestone... the actual stick used by Adam Graves to score the historic goal. The Hespeler 5500 is stamped with Adams surname up on the shaft and has a handle wrapped in white cloth tape with black wrap covering the blade. A simple strip of white cloth tape on the back of the shaft marked “52” speaks volumes. Framed in a stunning shadowbox display along with a photo of Graves and every detail of the milestone goal listed on the metal plaque above the stick. A memorable night for Graves, and a goal that helped his Rangers gain a playoff berth and on the Stanley Cup glory in 1994.
