The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
The New Jersey Devils had yet to win their first of three Stanley Cups when Martin Brodeur used this Heaton goalie stick in NHL play. Fresh from a tough loss to the New York Rangers in the 1994 Eastern Conference final, Brodeur and the Devils had to wait through a work stoppage before finally getting an abbreviated 48-game schedule underway for the 1994-95 season. The Devils lost only four games in the playoffs, beating Boston, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia before sweeping Detroit in the finals. This Helite III stick is factory stamped October 4, 1994 and Brodeur’s familiar No. 30 is written on white tape on the butt end. Brodeur has personalized his autograph on the blade, which has had its original tape removed. A fantastic game used stick from one of hockey’s greatest goalies as he was on the verge of becoming a champion.
