The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008

What a memorable night and what a fantastic tribute to the memorable career of Habs great Bernie “Boom Boom” Geoffrion! Bernie had passed away earlier on the day of his jersey retirement ceremony, a bittersweet and ironic touch. The amazing artwork of Michel Lapensee captures Geoffrion at various stages of his career. This is the original piece that would have been presented to Bernie on the night when the Montreal Canadiens retired the number “5”, worn with such great pride and honor by Bernard Geoffrion, the man affectionately known as “Boom Boom.” Images include those of a young Geoffrion, of him with his trophies and awards, scoring on Glenn Hall, celebrating with the Stanley Cup, seated beside the great Maurice Richard and the occasion of his induction into the Hall of Fame. On the white border is where the artist has signed this wonderful print, numbered “1/1”. Beautifully matted and framed to a giant 43” by 50”. Outstanding!
