Bourne’s copy of his original 1987 NHL standard contract with L.A. Kings features his signature twice, witnessed by Gillies, along with Kings GM Rogatien Vachon. The deal is signed June 5, 1987 and date stamped July 13 and calls for a salary of $205,000 for 1987-88 and an option year at $215,000. A photocopy of the contract includes addendums. Among the rest of the documents is a 1978 letter from Bourne to Islanders GM Bill Torrey in which he informally expresses his desire to remain with the team while he contests the Islanders’ most recent contract offer. A copy of his 1977 contract shows salaries of $65,000 and $75,000 and various bonus clauses and a 1978 memorandum of agreement indicates salaries of $90,000 for 1978-79 and $100,000 for 1979-80 with an amended letter copy from his attorney. A photocopy of Bourne’s five-year contract signed in 1981 shows an initial salary of $180,00 rising to $200,000 in 1985-86, the option year. A fantastic collection of over 60 photos, mostly 8” x 10”, of Bourne in action as well as candid shots of the left wing, including a shot of members of the Islanders with actors Jamie Farr and Harry Morgan at a party for the After M*A*S*H* TV series and another of Bourne and Denis Potvin with actors Bruce Boxleitner and Lee Majors. A vintage Islanders warmup jacket with its original Bill Vanderburg Company tag and No. 14 handwritten in marker on a white tag sewn beneath the others. Comes with an LOA
