The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
As the Toronto Maple Leafs’ longtime dentist, Dr. Ernie Lewis accumulated a huge collection of team memorabilia. An autographed miniature wood hockey stick is signed, “To Linda, best wishes, Darryl Sittler.” The Maple Leafs captain’s locker stall nameplate has his No. 27 on the left side and a team logo on the right side between his full name. Sittler, Palmateer, Turnbull and Williams have all signed a softball autographed by Maple Leafs players from the
late-1970s, including Glennie, Butler, Boutette, Weir, Valiquette, Jones, Neely and Maloney. This lot includes a collection of over 20 of Dr. Lewis’ Maple Leafs season passes and ID cards from 1978 through 2000 along with Christmas cards of the 1976-77 and 1979-80 Toronto Maple Leafs from the Sittler family to the Lewises signed “Darryl, Wendy, Ryan and Meaghan”, a pair of Christmas cards from the Paul Hendersons and a 1980-81 Maple Leafs card signed by Vaive, Crha, Paiement, Martin, among others. A Season’s Greetings card from Harold Ballard with the eccentric Maple Leafs owner posing with the Hamilton Tiger Cats mascot on the cover, and his original signature in blue ink inside what doubles as a business card is another standout in this awesome Maple Leafs collection of calendars, posters, team guides, team Christmas cards, and team issued apparel. Comes with an LOA.
