Among the treasured souvenirs of any world championships tournament are the participation medals that are presented to national team members. Team Canada dentist Dr. Ernie Lewis fashioned a large collection of these medals over the course of his career tending for the country’s best players in international competition. A medal from the 1978 tournament in Prague measures 3” in diameter and rests in red velvet lining in its original red case. Spots of tarnish appear on the 1981 medal from Sweden, and the 1982 Finland tournament medal is in blue velvet in its blue plastic case, the same as the 1983 tournament in West Germany. There are two medals from the 1985 Prague tournament and the 1986 medal from Moscow is encased in plastic. The 1987 Vienna medal measures 1 ½” x 2” while the 1989 medal from Sweden features a digitized rendition of a hockey player and comes in its original brown case. A remarkable collection of world championships medals spanning more than a decade of international competition. Comes with an LOA
