Jacques Laperriere’s coaching career took him to Long Island in the early part of the current decade when he joined New York Islanders head coach Peter Laviolette’s staff after a stint with the Boston Bruins. This lot of Laperriere’s Islanders memorabilia includes a
team autographed Islanders jersey. The navy blue size XL Koho replica jersey is signed by Peca, Yashin, Blake, Kvasha, Czerkawski, Cairns, Osgood, Parrish, Jonsson, Bates, Snow and Kiprusoff, among others. An orange Islanders third jersey replica, size large, is also included. Laperriere has signed in blue sharpie an original 10” x 8” Islanders 2001-02 team photo included in this lot, along with the back of a framed copy of the cover page of Newsday’s sports section from the end of the 2001-02 season, when the Islanders qualified for the playoffs ending a seven-year absence from the postseason. The item is signed and personalized by the team owners and autographed on the back in blue sharpie by Laperriere, who will provide a signed letter of authenticity.
