The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
They sure don’t make hockey sticks like they used to. This remarkable game used CCM stick was used by Jacques Laperriere at the outset of his Hall of Fame career in the mid-1960s. The stick features its original black tape and a vintage Laperriere signature in black ink on the front heel of the blade. The CCM Custom Pro has “McNiece’s” stamped on it for the Montreal sporting goods store near the Forum that supplied the stick. “Laperriere 2” is stamped on the upper part of the shaft, which exhibits a great puck mark on the front just above the heel of the stick. Age has begun separating the wood on the perfectly straight blade, which otherwise remains fully intact and wonderful as a display item. The original tape strip at the bottom of the shaft has come off, exposing lighter colored wood that was protected underneath from the ravages of time. This is an outstanding collectors’ item for a period that doesn’t yield a lot of game used sticks. It comes along with Jacques Laperriere’s signed letter of authenticity.
