The Jacques Laperriere Auction - Fall 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/21/2008
This fantastic group of photos from Jacques Laperriere’s remarkable career with the Montreal Canadiens includes some gems from Metro-Express photographer James Gauthier. Lappy is kneeling behind the Stanley Cup in one shot and posing with teammates J.C. Tremblay and Terry Harper along with the Cup and the Prince of Wales Trophy in another shot. A Forum center ice shot has Lappy, Beliveau, Hodge and Blake posing with the the Calder, Hart, Vezina and Prince of Wales trophies and Montreal mayor Jean Drapeau figures prominently in photos of City Hall receptions for the Stanley Cup champions, including Lappy looking cool in Ray Bans. An original 14” x 11” David Bier print of the 1967-68 Montreal Canadiens team photo montage is included along with a picture of Lappy as a junior coach in 1975-76. Other standouts include a photo of Laperriere early in his career posing in the Hull-Ottawa Canadiens’ white uniform, shots of Lappy and his wife with the Stanley Cup, the outdoorsman with his mounted fish and a miniature Cup from 1970, and another shot of Laperriere in a winter coat pouring champagne into the Stanley Cup. A treasure chest of great memories goes to the winning bidder.
