Hockey Memorabilia Auction - Spring 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/10/2008
Ancient two-fold event schedule and program from the 1887 Montreal Winter Carnival held at the Ice Palace. The hockey matches listed inside, held on February 7th and 11th were played by the member teams of Canada’s first organized hockey league formed on December 8th, 1886. The CAHA, also known as the Dominion Hockey League was made up of teams including McGill, MAAA, Montreal Victorias, Ottawa Silver Seven, and the Montreal Crystals, who won the tournament at the Winter Carnival in 1887. The program is missing one of its three sections but does include all of the events with the hockey match times noted.
Addendum; This 1887 Montreal Carnival program from Concord Railroad is actually complete and was printed this way. The program was compared with another example of the same year from Concord Railroad and both were printed and cut in the same manner.
