Hockey Memorabilia Auction - Spring 2008
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/10/2008
The trade that brought Brendan Shanahan to Detroit from Hartford early in the 1996-97 season, (for Paul Coffey and Keith Primeau), paid huge dividends for the Red Wings as the game’s premier power forward helped Detroit to three Stanley Cups in the next six years. Shanny wore this white airknit jersey during 2003-04 as screening on the inner rear hem indicates and the tag also pegs this one as coming from the “Playoff Set”. The size 56 fly tag is there in the collar below a screened red number “2” and near the Hockeytown Authentics hologram. Numerous black marks and general filth litter the lower front, with a few more stick marks and light burns on the sleeves in addition to a single team repair. With still a little fuel left in the tank before he skates into the Hall of Fame, Shanahan has indeed left his mark on the hockey world. A certificate of authenticity from Hockeytown Authentics will be included.
