Ford Frick never played a game in major league baseball but without him baseball would have never been the same. Starting as a radio broadcaster, Frick then moving on to print, becoming a sports writer. He was the key figure in the creation of Baseball’s Hall of Fame, became president of the National League from 1934-1951 and then Baseball’s Commissioner from 1951-1965. When several members of the St. Louis Cardinals planned a large protest against Jackie Robinson’s breaking the color barrier, Ford Frick threatened suspensions to those players. He is remembered as a great man and was able to autograph this Hall of Fame postcard before his passing in 1978. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Veterans Committee in 1970. The signature is PSA/DNA certified and rates a 7/10.
