The perennial ace of the Expos' pitching staff for seven years during the late 1980s and early '90s, Dennis Martinez wore this splendid blue knit road jersey in 1991, the same year he made baseball history by tossing a perfect game against the Dodgers. The date was July 28, with El Presidente becoming the first Latin-born hurler to be El Perfecto! It was one of his nine complete games (five shutouts!) in a season when he went 14-11 with an excellent 2.39 ERA. Classic Expos road blue here has a "Set 2 1991" tag in the neck, along with a size 46 Rawlings tag which is partially sewn over another tag with "46 91" still showing. Two-tone tackle twill numbering and lettering are joined by the tri-color Expos crest. Preserved in outstanding condition with no notable flaws, it recalls one of the greatest accomplishments in Expos history and is worthy of your Expos Hall of Fame display!
