While the Montreal Expos may no longer be with us, there are still plenty of historic items still up for grabs for collectors. This lot of five falls directly into this category as we go back to the early days of the Expos with this first pair of baseball pants that were donned by Ron Fairly in 1971. Ron had a splendid 21-year career that saw him stop in Montreal after his Dodger career as he finished just shy of 2000 base hits. These size 34 Wilson blue road pants are in excellent shape showing only a small amount of game wear. They have a 25" inseam marked inside the hip along with "Fairly" marked with pen, and the numbers "6-71 set 1" indicating year and player number. Next up is a pair of game worn home white pants donned by Ken Singleton during the 1974 season. This pair shows good game use with some stitching to close up a few holes. They are size 34 Rawlings brand with numbers "29-34-25-74-set 1" stitched inside the hip indicating number, waste, inseam and year. Ken had an outstanding career with Montreal and Baltimore that saw him surpass the 2000-hit plateau with over 1000 RBI. The lone jersey in this collection was worn by pitcher Don Carrithers during pre game warm ups in 1976. This is a pull over with the number 40 on the left sleeve and back. It is Wilson size 48 and shows little wear. Don pitched for eight seasons in the bigs, including three in Montreal. Another pair of Expos home pants is next, as they were worn by Pepe Manguel in 1974. They show quite a lot of game use. The numbers "11-30-23-74-set 1" are stitched inside the hip indicating his number, waste, inseam and year. Pepe played for six seasons in the majors mostly with Montreal, coming off the bench and stealing 34 bases in 1975. The last pair in this collection are Wilson size 48 pants worn by Hall of Famer Larry Doby while he was an Expos' coach in 1976. The numbers sewn in the hip are "14-76-1-24", which indicate the number, year set and inseam. The pants are in excellent condition showing light wear. Larry Doby was a supurb player who performed in the Negro Leagues before becoming the second African American player to join the big leagues. He was the first however in the American League and passed away in 2003.
