Scarce old wool sweater was worn by a member of Montreal’s McGill Redmen and shows numerous signs of university hockey battles. Tie-neck style sweater features an embroidered and felt team crest, along with a felt assistant captain’s “A” sewn on the front, while a single “1” is sewn between the outline of a pair of “1”s (originally a number 11 jersey) on the back. We count nine mostly darned repairs on the front and some two dozen unrepaired holes. Another 20 stitch jobs and 15 holes on the sleeves and back are also to mention, along with the fact that this in the first time we’ve handled a Redmen sweater of this vintage.
