Amazingly only 17 when he arrived at Pittsburgh’s training camp in 2006, Jordan Staal not only made the team but went on to score 29 goals as an 18 year old rookie, donning this size 56 black air-knit home jersey during his first NHL game (Oct. 5 vs. Philly), after having worn it during the pre-season when he was impressing Pittsburgh’s hierarchy. Game use includes scrapes, burns, black marks and a small slice on each sleeve, with pilling along both hems, on much of the gold striping throughout, at the right cuff and on the interior. Signed on the fight strap by Penguins equipment manager Dana Heinze, it’s the only black home jersey issued to Jordan for the pre-season through mid-January. A certificate of authenticity from the Penguins will accompany this special offering.
