Hockey’s all-time winningest goaltender and one of its top clutch playoff performers with a record three Conn Smythe trophies on his resume, Patrick Roy pulled this red knit Canadiens road jersey over his goalie gear during the 1991-92 season, one which saw him post a 36-22-8 record while leading the NHL in goals-against-average (2.36) and shutouts (5). His play earned him his third Vezina Trophy as the league’s outstanding netminder. With Maska Ultrafil and size 54 tags in the neck and the NHL 75 year patch at the right breast, the jersey shows game use that can be matched up to a photo of the Hall-of-Famer in action. The photo in question captures a gaping hole below the Canadiens crest, with this jersey featuring a 5” diagonal stitch job to repair the slice. Two team repairs are a little higher up in the blue stripe to the right of the crest, while two other repairs on the front, two small circular jobs on the left sleeve, pilling at the left cuff and on the inner (lower) sleeves also enhance the appeal. Documentation including a certificate of registration from the MeiGray Group will accompany this special shirt, donned by a special Hall-of-Famer. This jersey was originally given by Patrick Roy to one of his best friend who also had attended his wedding.
