One professionally matted and framed lithograph here, along with 24 unframed prints recall Bobby Baun’s famous playoff goal in 1964 and have all been signed in pencil by both Baun and artist Les Pomeroy. Entitled “Through the Pain”, the work brings forth the story of how Baun left game six of the Stanley Cup finals (in Detroit) on a stretcher with a cracked bone in his ankle, only to return later and score the winning goal in overtime, sending the series back to Toronto where the Maple Leafs claimed their third straight Cup title. The framed piece is numbered “1136/1964” and measures just over 25” by 30”. A letter of authenticity signed by Stanley Cup hero Bobby Baun will be included with this terrific lot.
