Superior offering here was worn by legendary Russian defenceman Viacheslav Fetisov who played his first of three full seasons with the Wings in 1995-96 after arriving from New Jersey the previous spring. Although Detroit was ousted in six games in the ‘96 Stanley Cup semi-finals by Colorado, “Slava” and his mates would erase that disappointment by capturing hockey’s top prize the following two years, Fetisov adding Cup triumphs to his numerous Olympic and World Championships successes and cementing his spot in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Red air-knit Red Wings road jersey has Center Ice, CCM and size 52 tags in the neck, while screening on the inner rear hem includes the Wings’ 70th anniversary logo, an image of the Stanley Cup and “96 Playoffs.” “Fetisov” (no nameplate) is arched above his number “2” on the back and the shirt exhibits good game use. A few stick marks on the front are joined by general filth on the hem while over half a dozen black slash/hook marks and a few light burns are on each sleeve, leaving three small holes on the left. A stick mark on the back, a small red paint transfer in the white hem and pilling along the edge of the hem are also to mention. It is at the right breast where Fetisov penned a nice bold black sharpie autograph, adding number “2”. Like we said at the start, superior!
