A smiling 18-year old Bobby Orr, wearing the captain’s “C” and sitting beside future Boston Bruin teammate Wayne Cashman in the front row here, highlights this special team photo of the 1965-66 Oshawa Generals. In his last of three years of junior hockey, Orr was dominant and had the hockey world’s attention, scoring a defenceman-record 38 goals and 94 points in just 47 regular season games (breaking his own records), before leading Oshawa to the OHA title with playoff wins over St. Catharines, Montreal and Kitchener. After Memorial Cup playdown triumphs over North Bay and Shawinigan, the Generals lost in six games to Edmonton in the Cup finals. Danny O’Shea, coach Bep Guidolin and Wren Blair also pictured in the front row in this near mint 8” by 10” glossy, a definite must for big-time Orr maniacs.
