Jean Beliveau Foundation Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/11/2008
Two beauties that were once on display at Toronto’s legendary Maple Leaf Gardens are big heavy affairs with light blue-painted wooden frames. One captures a smiling Conn Smythe with his arm around Joe Primeau, the former pivot of the famous “Kid Line” of the 1930s who coached the Leafs in the early ‘50s, while goalie Bruce Gamble gets help from Bob Pulford to foil Montreal’s Jean Beliveau in the other. Tim Horton is in the background in the circa-1966 photo which measures 22” by 32”. Superb images of the Original Six era feature a total of five Hall-of-Famers and will look superb in your special Leafs room.
