Fantastic vintage junior offering was discovered in the Ottawa region where the Montreal Canadiens ran their junior team in the late-1950s. The striping along the hem and on the sleeves dispel any notion of it being a Montreal uniform, with the style of the tricolor felt patch and the zigzag stitching on the blue and red felt number 3 on the back pointing to the 1950s. Untagged tie-neck style alternate captain’s sweater shows heavy game use with some two dozen team repairs and approximately 30 holes that went unrepaired, the most sizeable ones in the outer layer of the reinforced elbows. A quarter-size hole on the back and bleeding at the left cuff are also notable. Great alternative to a Montreal wool of the era for those not possessing deep pockets!
