One of the founding governors of the NHL, T. P. (Tommy) Gorman was a part of seven Stanley Cup championships, managing four different teams, including the Canadiens. This March 21, 1945 one-page letter on Canadian Arena Company letterhead is from his time with the Habs and was sent to a fan in Chesterville, Ontario, telling the gentleman that “one of the new pictures of the Canadiens” will be sent to him. It also includes “we lost a good game last night, but hope to even up the series tomorrow evening” and refers to Montreal's 1-0 loss to Toronto in the first game of the semi-finals. Gorman's bold fountain pen signature concludes the letter, which has multiple punch holes and fold lines.
