An important figure in the history of the Montreal Canadiens, Leo Dandurand, along with Joseph Cattarinich and Louis Letourneau, bought the team on November 3, 1921, for $11,000 and built it into the “Flying Frenchmen”. Five Stanley Cup championships and 16 years later, the club was sold for $165,000. This dinner menu is from a banquet tendered to Dandurand on his approaching marriage by the “Montreal City Hockey League and Friends”. May 7, 1912 was the date, with 20 attendees autographing the inside cover, including Dandurand and future Canadiens coach Cecil Hart. Approximately 5-1/2” by 7” menu is EX with bold fountain pen signatures and joined by another 1912 Montreal City League souvenir menu.
