Impressive vase-like trophy towers some 20 inches high and dates back to the 1926-27 season. The image of a hockey player is joined by fancy engraving that reads "Au Club de Hockey Canadien’ Donnée par la section nord des Millionaires du Forum’ Saison 1926-27" and that translates to "Given by the north section of the Forum’s Millionaires section." Admittedly, we don’t know the history of the surely one-of-a-kind trophy, but can tell you that the Millionaires section existed in the 1920s and '30s and was not for the wealthy, but rather for those who would line up outside the hockey temple, pay a nominal fee to get in (originally 25 cents) and then make a dash to get an unreserved seat at the end of the arena which was fenced off, so that they wouldn’t be able to move down/into the more expensive seats, if you follow. Silver-plated trophy features a 6-1/2" base and has survived in excellent condition with tarnish throughout to note. Special piece from the folks in the cheap seats!
