A marvelous opportunity here to acquire some history-making game gear donned by one of hockey’s greatest goalies. Patrick Roy strapped on these white leather pads during the 1991-92 season, one which saw the Hall-of-Famer tack on 36 wins to his career total, en route to becoming the NHL’s all-time leader in regular season victories. Patrick was voted the Vezina Trophy winner for the third time in four years while posting the best goals-against-average (Jennings Trophy) for the fourth of five times in his illustrious career. Several marks and scrapes on the pads can be matched to a 1992-93 Pro Set hockey card of Patrick (Award Winner - card #CC2), the photo taken during the previous (‘91-92) season when Roy’s jersey included the NHL 75th anniversary patch. The pads, with blue and red canvas side sections, exhibit great game use, are complete with all straps present, and seem rather heavy compared to what is being produced for today’s netminders! Exceptional pieces to add to a big-time Roy/goalie equipment stash.
