Another superior offering worn by one of hockey's most clutch playoff performers, this mesh jersey is from a Stanley Cup championship season and was donned by Patrick Roy as he backstopped the Avalanche to its first-ever Cup title in the spring of 1996. following the December trade that landed Patrick in Colorado, he fashioned a 22-15-1 record and then turned in some classic playoff heroics, leading, along with Joe Sakic, the Avs past the Canucks, Black Hawks, Red Wings and Panthers, going 16-6 in post-season play. We have several video-matches showing Saint Patrick wearing this particular jersey in game six of the Campbell conference finals, which turned out to be a 4-1 clinching home ice victory over the Red Wings that sent the Avalanche to the Cup finals. Mesh jersey by Starter has Center Ice and ''58-G'' tags in the collar, Starter and NHL logos embroidered into the rear hem and a somewhat misleading 1996 Stanley cup patch (only worn during the finals) sewn-on at the right breast. That's explained by the fact that Colorado staff patched all jerseys during/after the finals. This jersey is not what shows up in videos of the Cup finals, swept 4-0 by Colorado. Good game use includes some sweat stains and red post paint on the custom shortened sleeves, significant interior pilling and stretching above the big Avs crest, half a dozen black puck marks on the front and a somewhat dirty fight strap. Some orange-ish stains in the team crest are also to mention. Patrick autographed the sweater at the left breast, adding his number ''33''. The jersey comes to us from Patrick's former Canadiens' teammate Mario Roberge who purchased it at a charity auction in Quebec City, at which Roy was present. Being offered to the hobby for the first time, the first-rate jersey will be accompanied by Mario Roberge's signed letter of authenticity.
