Fascinating old trophy features the puck with which scoring legend Maurice Richard scored his 543rd NHL goal, the second-to-last regular season marker of his prolific career. The five-tier wooden base includes a big engraved brass plaque which reveals the Rocket donated the trophy to the Transportation Hockey League, to be awarded to its MVP. Winners are listed from ’56-57 to ’62-63 so the puck was surely added at some point. Richard potted #543 in Boston on Sunday, March 13, 1960. It came at 9:59 of the second period against Don Simmons and was assisted by his brother Henri and Dickie Moore. Art Ross puck has identical orange rubber logos both front (showing wear) and back (perfect), while an engraved brass plate with Richard’s facsimile autograph and another “543” one are applied to the front. Towering 21” high, the trophy has been preserved in excellent condition. A letter of authenticity will be included with this dazzling one-of-a-kind piece.
