Jean Beliveau Foundation Auction
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/11/2008
The Montreal Canadiens made it six regular season championships in seven years in 1961-62, racking up 42 wins and 95 points, 13 ahead of the second place Maple Leafs. With Henri Richard and Jean Beliveau limited to 54 and 43 games respectively because of injuries, the likes of Backstrom, Provost, Geoffrion, Gilles Tremblay and Hicke had fine offensive seasons to lead the Habs to the Prince of Wales Trophy, with Jacques Plante claiming the Vezina Trophy. For their efforts, team members received commemorative silver-plated ice buckets like this one presented to Henri Richard. Handled and covered affair is nicely engraved and has been kept with pride by Richard for over 40 years. In excellent condition, it will come with a letter of authenticity signed by the one and only Pocket Rocket.
